Q - Where do you play?
A - At the Municipal Ice Complex in Huntsville.


Q - Who do you play against?
A- We will alternate between practices and scrimmages each Wednesday. We will break up into two teams for our
scrimmages, and we may also have the opportunity to travel around the country to play other women's teams!


Q - Do I have to travel/Can I travel?
A - Travel is optional. We will travel to women´s hockey tournaments based on interest and availability.


Q - Do you have a coach?
A - Yes. Wednesday practices will be coached by Nichelle Simon of the HHDC. Please see her profile below:
A level 4 youth hockey coach with four years of college hockey experience, Nichelle has brought a new passion to
women´s hockey in the south. Nichelle began her hockey career playing at Shattuck-St. Mary´s as a senior in high school.
She then went on to play four years of NCAA Division III hockey as a defenseman at Hamline University and Neumann
College. She was an Assistant Captain in her second year of college hockey and she also earned an All-Conference
Honorable Mention two out of the four years. She then went on to coach the Lady Thrashers in Atlanta for a year while
working for the Atlanta Thrashers Hockey Development Center. Nichelle then coached the 19U Thunder Girls AAA travel
hockey team from 2006 to 2008.


Q - Is there body checking?

A - There is no body checking in the women´s game at any level. However, there is incidental contact and the occasional
running into each other.


Q - Am I too old/young to play?
A - You must be 16 or older to play but there is NO UPPER AGE LIMIT!


Q - I´ve never even ice skated before. Can I still play?
A - Yes! We welcome everyone, even if you´ve never played before.


Q - Do you have to have equipment?
A - Yes, you need to wear full gear.


Q - I have no equipment and do not want to spend a lot of money on equipment just to try it out. What can I do?
A - No problem! HAHA has equipment that we can lend to you (we have a limited amount of equipment)!


Q - How long is the season?
A - We will run 15-week long seasons that go year round


Q - How much does it cost?

A - A15-week season costs around $260. We also require a USA Hockey membership, which is $35 annually.

Q - What day and time are the practices?
A - We will play on Wednesday nights starting September 2, 2008 from 9:10pm-10:30pm for the first four sessions. Starting October 1, the times will change from 8:55 - 10:15


Q - Do we get jerseys?
A - Each player will receive a jersey to use for scrimmages and practices.
